The Institute of Islamic Sciences, Islamabad is a registered trust established in 1986 with the primary aim of combining Islamic religious education with required contemporary education to produce religious scholars who are better able to play a mainstream role in society.

The main campus of the institute is located near the 17 mile toll plaza on the main Murree Highway in Bhara Kahu, Islamabad, over an area of more than 9 acres.

The Institute is essentially a madrassa where scholars additionally equipped with modern education are produced.

It is simultaneously fully affiliated with the Wifaq ul Madaris Al Arabiyya Pakistan for religious education (Shahadat'ul Alamiyyah) and with the FBISE and Punjab University for contemporary education.

The Institute teaches all levels from grade 6 to graduation (contemporary syllabus) and ‘mutawassita’ (middle) to ‘daura e hadith’ (Shahadat'ul Alamiyyah i.e. MA Islamiyat/Arabic), in parallel under one roof.

Classes for the memorization of the Holy Quran are also conducted under the Tahfeez department for students having cleared primary school.
